Amalgamations is a mod centered around Necromancy. The main aim is to recreate Minecraft’s core mechanics to a more skill-based playstyle with many conjoined concepts to fit the overall Necromancy theme. As an example: Electricity + Dark Magic = Growtube. While also adding our own spin on survival game mechanics, like (but not limited to) torches burning out over time, or needing wooden tools to make stone tools without having to craft each tier individually.

Factions
There are a total of eight planned factions, each with unique playstyles to make each new playthrough like a new game in the same universe.
Beast
Vampiric
Void (WIP)
Nomad
Fungi (WIP)
Amalgam
Dollmaker
Angelical
Note: You can play this mod as a ‘Pureblood’ (regular human) but will be barred from most of the mod. Still, purebloods will have some catered gear for more diverse role-play.
Important Changes
We hate redundant features, so to this end we’re aiming to change that within the confines of the mod. This means everything as a ‘reason’ to be killed, tamed, battered, found, rewarded. No more rabbits’ foot for ‘leaping’ or Bats for ???.
As a quick side note, Milk is not changed to be more useful as it can be stored in a BackGland to be ‘drunk’ on demand if you’re poisoned over time instead of being a single use consumable, and cakes also now remove poison and decay.
Limbs, Organs and Brain Tier List
Rotting
Scathed
Average
Toned
Muscular
Strong
Elemental (Fire, Ice, Decay)
Mythical (Startouched, Voidtouched)
Souls
Souls are the currency of the mod. Each mob will drop a single soul, but there are ways to increase its rarity to make it more effective and valuable.
You can only store one type of soul per BackGland.
Soul Tiers (from least to best) – Soul, Ghost, Wraith, Oni, Reaper, Abyssal
Tool Durability
Tools break, weapons don’t. (depending on difficulty to implement, neither break) but become unusable until repaired via a grindstone (wood – stone – bone – copper) or heated anvil (gold – iron – diamond, ect..) This also means shields don’t break, but can be upgraded.
Breathing
Each faction has a special group of 'Atmospherical Gas' which they can breathe, for example: Beast can breathe in most atmospheres but suffocate in dense or dry atmospheres like in deserts. You can wear a mask, enchanted helmets (respiration), or wear a gas mask to not be effected.
Portals
Portals are planned to be overhauled to be temporary until the dimension’s master portals are activated. So each trip needs planning or perseverance, often leaving players on a one way trip for extended periods of time. Making in-dimension homes more desireable.
Fire Overhauls
Torches burn out over time, flint and steel is harder to obtain. Furnaces need lit campfires to work instead of fuel, but fuel increases smelting speed. Only lava, netherrack, electricity can burn forever.
You need special tanks for transporting and using Lava, as it will melt regular buckets now.
Burning logs will, over a small time, convert it to burned logs which, when broken without silk touch will drop x9 charcoal per block.
Scolding Lava now exists. It's like lava, but can’t be bucketed, walked on or even gotten near to without overheating. Only striders can withstand it, and even get happier in it. (riding a strider here will make you immune to the effects).
Parts Harvesting
Harvesting mobs for limbs and rgans for your minions is vital to the mod.
Killing anything (even players) with a scythe will drop the respective mob’s organs (including brains) instead of the regular drops.
The rarity of each part or organ is entirely random until you get specific enchantments on the scythe.
Items
Necronom’icon (Used to cast spells as a Necromancer.)
Scythes
Wands (For ‘purebloods’ or minions and not necromancers to cast spells.)
Staffs (For commanding minions)
Brooms (For flying)
Ceremonial Daggers (To turn purebloods into necromancers)
Gauntlets – Like gloves, but heavier. (These are the new early game multitools. Things like cacti and holding buckets of lava hurt if you don't wear protection.)
StarFisher Rod
NecroChest (It’s a backpack. With legs!)
Wings (Improved Elytra)
Blocks
Tombstones (Acts as the mod’s bed and respawn points.)
Glass Jars (For displaying and preserving brains, organs and limbs in an IceBox multistructure.)
Foundational Hearts (Your literal heart, protect it with everything.)
Minion Hearts
Souldrobe (Name WIP)
Brains (Listed here as it can be placed, but primarily used for minions and players.)
Heater Minion (Inspired by Create’s BlazeBurner)
Glands (Act as fluid tanks)
Nerves
HiveMind (It acts as a Guide and Mentor to the player)
ZombieCheff (Block that caters to the needs of minions' foods)
Injection Station (This is where you inject things with fluids! Yes, even yourself!)
Growtube
Operation Slab (This is where the player can change their own body – it's painless, but can cause nausea from your body adjusting, so have milk and blood on hand.)
Fluids
There are now many new fluids. They can be used with nerves or be used in a bucket.
Enchanted Water
Milk (Different from vanilla version)
Honey
Scolding Lava
Potion Liquid (Stores the relevant potion as a Liquid)
Vile
Blood
Growth Sludge
Sparkling
Bubbled
Lotions
Spells
Spells are chanted by the necromancer. You must use ‘Keybind’ and select the spell you’ve unlocked via the HiveMind and hold down ‘Interact-Key’ with a Wand or with a Necronom’icon. This will use the respective resources listed within the Necronom’icon before activation or you can witness it within the HiveMind.
Minions
Minion Husk (Minion Husks are to be created with bone blocks and given a brain. Similar to how golems are made.)
Basic
Sacrificial (These aren’t a special type of Minion, but rather you can sacrifice your Minion as food for another to gain levels.)
Guardian
Player
Currency
Souls
Blood (Specifically Pureblood)
Calamity Entity
This requires a VERY Special Minion Husk. When created the player can Inject its Vile into your veins using an Injector Station. When given a redstone pulse and the player stands below it, you can become your Faction’s CALAMITY entity.
However, you must consult with the HiveMind for your stage of growth and what is needed. You often have to ‘Devour’ minions or mobs whole, which is a lengthy process that leaves you vulnerable. The typical Calamity Entity takes 50 mobs to be devoured.
When completed you will grow each stage, until you can finally freely transform between Calamity and Necromancer at will for no cost.
In this form you need no armor, or weapons. You are the ultimate war machine, combined with custom set of attack modes and combat styles
Food
Your dead silly! You don’t need food!.. at least not the regular stuff. (Purebloods still need food.)
But you can feed your minions to heal, or increase their stats!
The better the food, the more of an impact it will have!
Damage (For most Factions)
When you have a summoned minion, any direct damage you take goes to your highest minion first (I.E. Highest in health).
Some minions, through limbs or organs, can avoid this fate.
Mob Interactions
Once Initiated, consult your HiveMind to see what mobs are ‘on your team’, for example the Fungi faction can convert any mob to their cause, however doing so will cost them valuable organs for a temporary proxy. Another is, the Amalgam faction is ‘undead’ and so zombies and skeletons will ignore them.
Organs
Organs, limbs and brains can be used on both minions and players.
On Minions:
Makes them stronger and faster.
The better the brain, the more commands they can follow.
A Minion Husk just needs a brain to start to operate. However, a minion can take Brain, Lungs, Meat, Skin or Hair, and a Heart as upgrades.
On Players:
Faster, tougher, more Heart containers.
The Amalgam Faction gains the abilities of what they attach (I.E. Bat wings – Can Fly, FishGills – Can breathe underwater but not air, etc.)
Lungs change what you can and cannot breathe.
Guts change what you can or cannot eat. (Some may require a strictly minion-based diet.)
Brains increase your Character Soul Gland. (as it's located in your head… don’t question it.)
Lotions
Lotions are the new potions, except they can be washed off in a bathtub.
Keep in mind you can only wear ONE lotion at a time.
Use the respective lotion, which is a placeable liquid that you walk through, as this will act like a barrier to most things like:
Lotion of Walling – Lava doesn’t burn you (scolding lava still can, and you still can’t see far), arrows ricochet off you (piercing still gets you), and if you have legs, it will negate fall damage.
Lotion of Speed – Everything is ice! But you’ll bounce around like slime and get launched from slime pistons.
Lotion of Breathing – You can breathe any atmosphere and even underwater. Requires Soap to remove.
Lotion of Health – Unlike food or other games, a vial containing lotion of health or a stream will immediately, with almost no delay, use and apply a healing affect on you – however, a splash of water can wash it away from you.
And more (WIP)
The last lotion you walked through, will be your current lotion.
So what about Potions?
As a Pureblood they are the same, but as a Necromancer your body can’t take it, but you can use an Injection Station to coat food for your minions that will give them the effect.
Dimensions and Portals
Portals now work differently. You need to activate the Master Portal Beacon in each dimension in order to not have your portal frame break per trip.
The Nether – Haven’t changed the dimension, but now requires the player to use a Wither Star to keep the realities intertwined in the Castle within the Scolding Lakes.
The InBetween – A vast and desolate landscape, meant only for travel between portals and trading with strange creatures.
The Void - It is now a place you can visit (though it is separate from the vanilla void). If you wear the right armor (Startouched), and the right lungs (Quadra-Lungs) you can visit it.
